Background

According to the World Congress of Nephrology (WCN), Nephropathy is one of the fastest growing chronic diseases in the world.  The medical profession also estimated that 1 out of 10 adults in the world could attain some kinds of nephropathy in their life.  There are now over 8,000 End Stage Renal Disease patients in Hong Kong which is a 90% increase when compare to 10 years ago.  Over thousands of people require a long-term peritoneal dialysis and more than 970 people even need hemodialysis treatment in order to control their condition.  These tremendous increase in dialysis demand generates a great burden on our health care system. In fact, the aging population in Hong Kong urged the need for extra renal dialysis service. Therefore, Yan Chai Hospital Board decided to further expand their service in providing renal dialysis service in our community.

With the generous support by the Lobo Law Charity Foundation Limited, The Yan Chai Hospital Lobo Law foundation Renal Dialysis Centre was established at Riviera Garden, Tsuen Wan in 2015.  The centre has a total floor area of 1,899 ft2 and is installed with 12 advanced model dialysis machines and water distribution system. Experienced nephrology specialists and registered nurses are present in the centre to guarantee professional and quality services. In order to provide a comfortable environment for the patients, individual LCD TV and Wi-Fi service are provided in the centre.  With our well-equipped facilities, patients can receive professional and comprehensive care in our renal dialysis centre.
